Timberland at a glance.

The legendary outdoor footwear brand Timberland’s origin began in 1952. Shoemaker Nathan Swartz bought half of the then Albington Shoe Company’s stake and took three more years before buying the rest of the remaining interest. Swartz then took his wife and their sons into the business, where they moved the company to New Hampshire.

The New Hampshire state lies in the United States’ New England region, where vast wilderness was the area’s main distinction. With weathers varying from blizzards, rainstorms, extremely cold winters, and insanely hot summers, Swartz and his family wanted to create a footwear that can withstand extreme conditions. Then in 1973, they finally came with a solution.

A rugged, waterproof, and premium leather boot called the Timberland boot changed the way we view outdoor footwear. It was durable and was the perfect footwear option in extreme weather. The yellowish brown boots were so popular not only for outdoor trailblazers, but also for workers who needed some kind of protection for their feet.

The Albington Shoe Company was officially renamed to Timberland come 1978.

In 1988, the company began to release apparel to match the rugged and durable makeover of the boots. Through the years, Timberland’s products continued to expand until they became a staple name in the footwear industry.

Not even the hip-hop community could resist the heavy-duty quality that Timberland boots have to offer. Even sneakerheads appreciate the inclusion of Timberland in the sneaker culture because it’s been immortalized as a fashion staple.

One thing is for sure, these boots won’t ever fail you – both in quality and in style.
