Under Armour at a glance.
With performance sports in mind, Under Armour is now one of the best sports brands around. Both the apparel and footwear collection boasts different features that helped athletes fulfill their potential as they focus on their craft.
Founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football’s team captain Kevin Plank, Under Armour finished the year with a 17,000-dollar total sales. Plank first got the idea to develop new apparel when he noticed that his T-shirts always get soaked with sweat, making him change in and out of the tee. He realized that the compression shorts don’t get soaked as bad as his upper apparel. He developed a T-shirt made with microfibers that kept the athletes cool and dry, as well as making it lightweight.
The brand then went on to see a lot of screentime in the cinema when the movies “Any Given Sunday” and “The Replacements” featured Under Armour products.
More than a decade later, Under Armour became a prominent sports brand. But hoopers were still looking for something from the brand. UA fulfilled fans’ wishes with the release of the Under Armour Anatomix Spawn. The Anatomix Spawn was a highly-rated basketball shoe compared to the other models because of its futuristic build.
In 2013, Under Armour signed Stephen Curry to a multi-year deal that included his own signature model’s launch. Fast forward to now, the best shooter in NBA history has multiple signature silhouettes and even his own Curry Brand division.
Put away the hype, Under Armour is definitely a brand that you must try if you’re looking for serious footwear and apparel that provide you with a lot of comfort.
