adidas at a glance.

The Brand with the Three Stripes! Adidas is one of the most popular brands right now that offers sportswear, lifestyle, and even functionality collections. First dubbed Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik in 1924 in the small German town of Bavaria, Adi Dassler was motivated to craft the best possible equipment for athletes.

Just four years after the brand’s launch, Adi Dassler made waves as several athletes won gold in track and field events while rocking Dassler’s early models.

It took over 20 years before Adi Dassler returned to his passion. Adidas’ story began in 1949 when “adidas Sportsschuhfabrik” was officially registered and began operations in Herzogenaurach. Adidas then bought the three stripes logo from Karhu, another up-and-coming Finnish brand. And the rest is history.

Often labeled as Nike’s archrival, adidas popularized various performance sports icons such as the adidas Superstar, a basketball shoe, and the Stan Smith, a tennis trainer.

The adidas Trefoil logo arrived in 1972 as the signature symbol for adidas Performance footwear and apparel. Nowadays, the adidas Trefoil is used for adidas Originals, the brand’s lifestyle and streetwear collection. It remains just as iconic as the three stripes. New adidas sneaker technologies here and there were launched throughout the next few decades. Further leveraging the brand to the top of the sportswear throne.

In 2013, adidas introduced the pinnacle of comfort and cushioning with the adidas Boost. In the same year, adidas and Kanye West announced a multi-year deal that would change the sneaker culture forever.

The highly anticipated collab was launched in 2015, the Yeezy era is here.

2015 was considered to be a big breakthrough year for the Three Stripes when the Ultraboost, Yeezy Boost 350, Yeezy Boost 700, and NMD all came out. Boost became a standout in both performance footwear and lifestyle selections due to its insane comfort that would never tire you out for hours!

After a couple of years of Yeezy dominance and hype, adidas started rolling out sneakers featuring sustainable materials. Aside from the adidas x Parley that has been around for a few years already, Primegreen and Primeblue were some of the relevant recycled content that adidas uses.

Undoubtedly one of the best brands that will never go out of the list.
