Champion at a glance.

Rocking these will truly make you feel like a champ! Popular sportswear brand Champion started out by equipping schools’ sports teams with their uniforms. More than a century later, it’s now one of the best brands to buy for your lifestyle leisure so you can be cool just like you’re in school.

Champion first entered the market in 1919 under the name Knickerbocker Knitting Company. The Feinbloom brothers, Abraham and William, founded the company and specialized in manufacturing college sports teams. The University of Michigan Wolverines athletics teams was the first sponsorship deal of the brand.

The Knickerbocker Knitting Company took on a different name, now adopting Champion Knitting Mills by the 1930s. With a wide range of apparel options, the US Military Academy used Champion products as the uniform during training and physical education classes.

Quite a history for a brand that’s even considered to be a staple streetwear option now because of its iconic “C” logo and overall great quality.

The 70s brought more innovation when it comes to apparel. Champion created the hooded sweatshirt in 1970, it was actually rumored that the brand already created the product since the 1930s wherein workers wore a hooded garment for heat protection.

From the 1980s until 2000, Champion continued its triumphant run. The 1992 USA Dream Team featuring Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen, John Stockton, and more, wore Champion-sponsored national uniforms as part of the NBA deal.

It’s no doubt that Champion apparel is a must-cop for everyone. Even sneakerheads!
