Converse at a glance.

Highly regarded as the pioneer of basketball shoes that shaped the way sneaker technology is developed; Converse is definitely one of the most iconic brands that bestowed classic kicks for many generations.

Converse was founded in 1908 by Marquis Mills Converse. The company manufactures rubber-soled footwear for all genders and all ages. Converse became popular and started producing shoes every single day. By 1915, Converse took on the athletic footwear venture.

Converse found its breakthrough in 1921, when a basketball player named Charles “Chuck” Taylor complained about having sore feet after wearing early basketball models. He then convinced the brand to craft a new rubber shoe that’s specified for basketball. Chuck Taylor eventually became a salesman and the ambassador of the Converse All Star (which was eventually renamed to Chuck Taylor All Star in honor of his legendary feat).

With Chuck Taylor and his Converse All Stars, he led multiple basketball showdowns all over the United States promoting the shoes. Come the 1930s, Converse All Star became the premier basketball shoe of most players in America.

The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star transitioned from the hardwood courts to the streets as it became another iconic lifestyle sneaker. Though it’s not up to the standard of basketball shoes we have today, Converse revived the silhouette that’s specified for basketball with the All Star Pro BB.

In 2003, Nike bought Converse. The former incorporated some of their modern tech on the classic Chucks, but nothing beats the original.

Popular collabs from Converse such as Comme des Garcons, Off-White, Fear of God, Carhartt, and more, brought fresh new flavors to the century-old sneaker.

Popular then, still popular now. We’re pretty sure that almost everybody had a pair of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star. And everybody probably loved every minute of it.
